1 Fiorentina struggling ahead of Bayern clash on Sun Feb 14, 2010 5:13 am

Fiorentina cannot seem to win and are finding it difficult to score goals.

- Gilardino cannot find the back of the net

- Mutu is suspended

- Jovetic is just returning to full fitness

- New signing Keirrison needs time to settle and is inexperienced

- Dario Dainelli's sale has backfired

Can Fiorentina surprise Bayern and qualify? The German club's players are scoring for fun since beating Juve 4-1

add to that that gamberini and santana will both be out for the bayern game,.

they have certainly lost the confidence they had back in the days when they were beating liverpool, but they have class players there, i dont think itl be long until they get back in form - im not sure they can do it agianst bayern though.

Bayern are simply on fire and their goal ratio is quite stunning the last few months.
I personally would have liked to see Fiorentina go through but at this stage I doub it.
Let's hope I am wrong! If there's one Italian team I wanted to advance to the next stage, it's Fiorentina.
They have a good Coach (Prandelli), they tend to be play attractive football and they have a number of talented players (Jovetic, Vargas...)
They just have so much to deal with from Mutu's fiasco to injuries to lack of confidence at this point.

i think tonight is damage limitation, and score a goal. then get some form up in the coming weeks and win it at home.

easier said than done of course

They frankly susrprised me with a good performance but for reasons beyond their control the tie is slightly in Bayern's favour.
Let's hope for better refereeing in Florence and hopefully we can have an entertaining match with plenty of goals
